We all know how expensive waxing can be.
On average, a full leg wax will set you back about $100 and it costs even more if you’re getting a bikini or a full Brazilian.
And for that kind of price, just like anything you have to pay a lot of money for, you’d want two things:
1. That it works.
2. That it’s convenient.
The first one is easy enough to get. Waxing is very effective.
For the most part, it gives you smoother skin while removing unwanted hair from different parts of your body.
And when a very experienced aesthetician does the work, they don’t miss anything even if you have light blonde hair, giving you silky hairless skin.
It also keeps hair from growing for way longer than say, shaving, where you’d expect to get prickly stubble after just 2 days.
So it does work.
But is it convenient? Not exactly.
Sure it’s a relatively quick way of getting rid of unwanted body hair.
But I don’t need to tell you that waxing is an experience that’s anything but pleasant.
In fact, even women who know that waxing works for them dread going to a waxing salon because of how much it hurts.
And there’s no shortage of horror stories out there about women getting bloodied, bruised and swollen after one waxing session.
The worst part? Waxing opens up your pores, making them more vulnerable to all kinds of bacteria.
All it takes is one wrong pull at a sketchy waxing salon for you to have a serious infection.
So is waxing worth the money? Personally, I don’t think so.
The downsides outweigh the benefits, and you end up paying big money for what is essentially torture.
And in this pandemic, you can’t get it anyway.
So what choice do you have?
Should you go back to something much cheaper like shaving and just deal with the itchy prickly growth 2 days after every time you do it?
Or should you go for the even more expensive (but effective) laser hair removal and let it slowly drain your bank account just to get smoother silkier skin?
What if there was a middle ground?
In my quest to find a hair removal method that’s more affordable, more effective, and less painful than waxing, I stumbled upon some very interesting technologies.
And one of them is IPL...
